28 Years in traffic
For 28 years, Steve Athineos sped through the streets of New York City, one of thousands of anonymous bike messengers that businesses rely on and pedestrians try to avoid. He’s been a legend in that community since leading protests in 1987 to stop a proposal that would ban cycling in Manhattan. This video portrait is a tribute to Steve’s dynamic personality and unstoppable commitment to riding in the city he loved.
